Our first online Zoom meeting on September 16th went very well so now we are announcing a second one. It is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 21st and our guest speaker will be 'musicologist extraordinaire' Dr. Mike Daley.
You might remember Mike from the very last face to face club meeting we had in the Recreation Centre salons back in March. He gave us a very interesting presentation on the life and music of Leonard Cohen.
This time his presentation will be The Motown Story: Learn the incredible story of Motown/Tamla Records, the independent Detroit-based record company that revolutionized popular music in the 1960s and ‘70s. Featuring the music of the Miracles, the Supremes, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5 and more, The Motown Story is an inspiring tale of resourcefulness and determination by a talented group of musical visionaries.
