Our general Meeting for March will be a special two part affair in order to properly celebrate the fact that this meeting date is also St Patrick's Day.
In the morning we will have a speaker as we normally do but this time we will have a distinctly Irish Celebration theme. Then later in the afternoon we will have a special St. Patrick's Day 'Kitchen Party". A kind of Cocktail Hour but we will be inviting you to try some Guinness or hot toddies instead.
For this morning session our guest speaker is Daniel Aonso. Daniel received his BFA from York University in 2015, focusing on Classical Piano. He has taught piano, guitar, drums, saxophone, music theory, and music history to students since 2012. He has also given talks on popular music, with topics such as Frank Sinatra, Big Band Jazz, The Beatles, Folk Music, etc. As well as having a passion for popular music, Daniel’s academic interests are focused around music for film, television, and video games.
Daniel's presentation will explore Ireland’s contribution to popular music through some amazing artists including The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, The Irish Rovers, and Enya.
Please register here for this session and then a separate invite will follow for the Kitchen Party.
