Now that we are having some in-person events, lets spread our wings a bit without having to get on a bus.   Join us for an historic tour of the St Lawrence Market and Old Town Toronto led by noted Toronto historian Bruce Bell (who has been nominated four times for the prestigious Order of Ontario for his work as a historian and tour guide).

As Bruce describes it:  This 2 hour tour includes an enthralling walk through St Lawrence Market as I tell its fascinating 200 year history.  It includes a visit to the remains of an old jail that was recently found in the basement as St Lawrence Market is built over the foundation of Toronto's Second City Hall. Then after covering the Market the tour proceeds outside where we will walk around Old Town Toronto.  There are plenty of places for us to sit during the tour and it does not involve a lot of walking, just around the block with plenty to see.

Following the tour, we will arrange a luncheon at a local restaurant, probably at the Hot House Café opposite the Market. and hopefully in their outdoor patio area, weather permitting.

The cost of the tour is $21 and registrants will be responsible for their own transportation costs and restaurant expenses.

We are proposing that those who will be GO training down catch the 8:57 am train from Pickering GO station (which will arrive in Union Station at 9:40 am) and that we meet in the last carriage (top deck).

This tour and it is only available to fully vaccinated people.   Other mask wearing and social distancing requirements may apply depending on the Go train, Market and restaurant protocols in effect at the time.
