Our speaker for April is Alan Mallory: Alan was born and raised in Canada and has a degree in engineering from Queen’s University and a master’s in psychology from Adler University, giving him a well-balanced approach to the internal and external challenges we all face in life. Today, Alan is an international keynote speaker, author, and performance coach. A leader who is passionate about inspiring individuals, team members, and organizations to reach new heights. He has authored 3 books, all available and highly rated on Amazon. The most significant of these is ‘The Family that Conquered Everest’: ‘An awe-inspiring true story that takes the reader on a remarkable family journey from the flatlands of suburbia to the top of the world’. What does it take to stand on the summit of Mount Everest? For Alan Mallory and his family, it took two years of rigorous preparation, two months of living on a shifting glacier, and a lifetime of mutual trust. In his captivating presentation, Alan takes us behind the scenes of his family’s world-record-setting expedition. Moving beyond the statistics, he shares the personal side of the journey—the physical toll of high-altitude climbing, the beauty of the Himalayan peaks, and the extraordinary bond required to survive in the "Death Zone" above 8,000 meters. Through stunning photography and video footage, Alan offers a first-hand look at the reality of life on the mountain. It is a story of resilience, the power of family, and the unique perspective gained from standing on the top of the world. Hope to see you there. Don't forget to register by clickiing here, you won't want to miss this one! Laura!! One of the many benefits of membership is access to regularly scheduled gatherings of club members who share common interests. Some Activities are seasonal, while others run throughout the year. Providing a variety of activities gives members an opportunity to get to know each other better while doing something that they enjoy. We currently have over a dozen such groups in our club, like euchre, weekly group walks, book and movie clubs, golf, trivia and much more. Click on the header to go to the Activities page. | Our members enjoy a variety of social events. Some local events include going to theatres and tourist attractions and visiting local restaurants for lunch or dinner. We educate as well as entertain by providing trips to museums, historic sites and tours of local businesses and industries. We come together annually to celebrate special times together like summer BBQ's and Holidays. These special events require advance registration and payment. On this page you can also see details of multi-day trips and vacations organized especially for PROBUS Members. Click on the header to go to the Events page. |
