Our Next Speaker....

Our speaker next month is a return engagement for the highly successful Canadian Author, Terry Fallis.

In 1983, while studying for his Engineering degree at McMaster University, Terry became engulfed in university politics and became President of the Students Union.   This experience led him into future Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s full time staff for the 1984 federal Liberal Leadership campaign.  He also served on the political staff of the Liberal Minister of State for Youth, the Honourable Jean Lapierre, in the short-lived cabinet of Prime Minister John Turner and remained as his Legislative Assistant afterwards.   

After politics, he spent several years as a government affairs and communications consultant with an international PR firm.   Then in 2008 he began his writing career and his debut novel, ‘The Best Laid Plans’ won the 2008 Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour.   It was also nominated by CBC Canada Reads as the “essential Canadian novel of the decade.“   Two years later, the Canadian Booksellers Association presented Terry with the Libris Award for Author of the Year.

As well as his many bestselling books, Terry has written extensively for publications such as Maclean’s, Canadian Geographic, Reader’s Digest, Toronto Life, the Globe and Mail, the National Post, and the Toronto Star.    He also created and co-hosted more than 200 episodes of the popular business podcast, ‘Inside PR’. 

To date he has nine bestsellers, each one rated well over four stars on Amazon.   At our meeting he will talk about his latest novel ‘The Marionette’ which Amazon has described as:  “..a comic thriller by a master of the craft.   Full of Terry’s signature wit and combined with an exhilarating high-stakes plot, this is a must-read for fans of espionage and intrigue”. 

Don’t forget this meeting will be in the Don beer Arena so make sure you register early as space is limited.
